Dr. Sarah Stellwagen studies all things spiders

New faculty member Dr. Sarah Stellwagen, Research Assistant Professor, studies all things spiders – and their sticky spider “glue” used to make webs and capture prey. Dr. Stellwagen came to UNC Charlotte from Virginia Tech and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Her current research program is funded by the NSF Division of Integrative and Organismal Systems for the project entitled “Genetics and biomechanics of non-Newtonian prey capture glues across panarthropoda”. This semester Dr. Stellwagen teaches BIOL3235 The Biology of Insects. Did you know? Dr. Stellwagen has several pet tarantulas.
