Jacob Hawkins

I’m from Denver, North Carolina and have stayed here except for a short time at NC State when I was in Biomedical Engineering before moving back and starting at UNC Charlotte. Here, I received my B.S. in Biology as a part of the Honors Program and have been doing research with the Grdzelishvili Lab since 2022. My favorite part of Biology is definitely the options for customization and design when it comes to medicine. Because of this, viruses have held a huge appeal to me since they can be used with such versatility. My interest is in addressing severe chronic illnesses through engineering and optimization of viruses. For hobbies I quite like reading, horror, and animal photography.
